The Best Christmas Ever

We had a wonderful Christmas, and hope you all did too. We visited our family in Indiana earlier in the month, so Christmas Day was a quiet day at home (our last quiet Christmas for a while!). Just two days before we got the wonderful news that despite some concerns on an earlier ultrasound, our baby boy looked great on the second trimester ultrasound. That was the best gift ever.

Adam felt Little Guy kick for the first time on Christmas Day! We were sitting on the couch together watching A Christmas Story, and my stomach was growling because our big feast was almost ready. Our guy must have been hungry too, because he was kicking up a storm!

I'm 19 weeks today - almost halfway there! If only I'd known how great I would feel during the second trimester, it would have made the exhaustion and nausea of the first trimester a little easier to bear. I'm going to enjoy this part to the fullest. I feel great, have plenty of energy, and have a little belly that finally fills out my maternity clothes. I eat my weight in food every day, but have only gained 5 pounds. Plus it's a lot of fun to be able to talk about my pregnancy at work.

Working was a real drag during the first trimester - I felt like hell and just sitting at my desk felt like torture, and I felt very alone not being able to talk to anyone about it. I just recently found out that a girl who works right down the hall from me is due just 4 days before me! It's funny to think I felt so alone when she was going through the same thing.
